I just wanted to share a few of the books that I have read recently. I am looking for a new book to read so I would love some of your suggestions! Has anyone read "The Help"? I have been thinking about reading that next, would love any input!
I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan, I have been reading his books for years now. It's so funny, every time I am crying and reading a book John says, " I guess your reading Nicholas Sparks again"..lol. Anyway, I just finished the "Last Song" and I loved it. It is a story about first loves, family and forgiveness. It is sure to tug at your heartstrings so do not be surprised if you shed a few tears here or there. (Or if you are like me, you will sob like a baby). I wanted to read it before I saw the movie because we all know how different the movies are. I saw the movie last weekend and I did like it but the book is SO MUCH better. There is so much information that is left out of the movie. If you have seen the movie and HAVE NOT read the book, I strongly urge you to read the book. It is definitely one of my favorite books after "The Wedding" and "The Note book", of course.
I also read "Dear John" a couple of months ago. Another classic Nicholas Sparks book. I would have preferred another ending but none the less it was a great story about what one will do to make sure the person they love is happy. This is a movie as well, I did not get it see it, but I can not wait to rent it as soon as it comes out on DVD. It may be out already, I am not sure.
My mother in law introduced me to the author Debbie Macomber last year. She is great at writing romance novels and I have fallen in love with one series in particular called, "Midnight Sons". This is a series of three books and I just finished the last book. It is about three brothers finding love in the Alaska Wilderness. A GREAT READ, you will love it. This was the type of book that you can not put down and you find yourself reading every spare minute that you have!
Okay, moving on, last but not least, I am re-reading "Eclipse", the third book in the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. It is not a secret, I am obsessed with this series. I honestly never thought I would like it and I picked up the first book just out of curiosity. Once I started reading, I was hooked. I wrote a review of "New Moon" here if you want to go back and read it. Trust me, if you have not read it and have had the same thoughts, go and get it, I promise you will love it. It is a good read for EVERYONE! I will admit I am an Edward fan and I can not wait to go and see the movie when it comes out in June, thus the whole reason why I am re-reading this book. I want to refresh my memory before I see the movie. My girlfriend and I have even talked about going to see it at midnight when it comes out..lol.
Okay, can't wait to hear some of your favorite reads, I need a new book!!

The Help is fantastic! I highly recommend it, along with South of Broad by Pat Conroy.

I just got Dear John but haven't started it yet. I am reading Watermelon by Marian Keyes! I joined the www.paperswap.com site - check it out!
Thank you so much for the book suggestions! I am always looking for a good book.
I really liked "The Last Song" and hope to now see the movie sometime.
Oh, and I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED "The Help"! I seriously think it's my #3 read...behind "To Kill A Mockingbird" and right with "Gone With The Wind" (both of those books are mentioned in THE HELP). I couldn't put it down!
I love Nicholas Sparks and the Twilight series! I'm going to have to check out Midnight Sons, I bet I'd love those ones!
ooooo i love good read recommendations! and i too am re-reading the twilight series!!! i am SO team edward and don't worry that my friend and i had SPECIAL passes to see new moon at 9pm the day BEFORE it came out!!! let me tell you the ones waiting for the midnight showing sure gave us some DEATH looks!!!
I have heard good things about these books! I am reading Beth Moore's So Long Insecurity right now and it is really good!!
Have you ever read Jodi Picoult? She is so good...but serious reads. The things she writes about weigh heavy on the heart, so I have to read them every so often and take a break -they are so serious.
I am re-reading Sources of Strength by Jimmy Carter right now (such a good Bible study!), but then maybe the newest Picoult after that. ;)
Thank you and your kiddos are adorable too! I just love "meeting" new people through my blog!
Well, it's hard to give suggestions when I am reading all the same books you are! haha. Half way through The last song now! yay!
I love it whenever my blog friends post on good reads! I loved Dear John, although I was not a fan of the movie. But HELLO Channing Tatum ;o) I cannot wait to read The Last Song. I have never been able to jump on the twilight fan craze! I wish I could though! There is just something about the way the actors and actresses look at one another in the movies that freak me out! haha!
Oh my! I read Dear John and The Last Song too. Cried like a big baby in both! Have not seen the movie Dear John yet but I did go see The Last Song...and I did not like it. I def enjoyed the book best!
