This is what we woke up to last Saturday! Yep that's right, about a foot of snow. I sent John out on Saturday morning to look for a pair of snow boots for Ayla. He went everywhere and could not find any. I guess that is what I get for waiting until the last minute. She had a pair of black boots that I let her wear and although they were not "snow" boots, they worked perfectly. When I finally dragged myself out of bed Saturday morning I could not find John anywhere. I started looking out the windows and this is what I saw
John was across the street at our neighbor's house shoveling their driveway for them. He had been up since 8:30am shoveling snow. Just another reason of why I love him so much. He is always thinking about others!
So we finally let Ayla out to play in the snow and she LOVED IT. I swear she would have stayed out there all day if we would have let her. I kept asking her if she was cold and she kept saying, "no" so we eventually had to make her come in!! Brennan has still been sick ( going on week three) and so we of course did not let him outside.
Ayla loved playing with the dogs in the snow, they were running around acting crazy, she thought that was so funny.....
I think they liked it too!!!
A friend of mine let me borrow a zoom lens for my camera and I can't believe what a difference it makes, these close up pics turned out so sweet!!!
We finally got to use the sled John bought for the kids last year....
it was a big hit with Ayla, I can't wait until Brennan is feeling better so he can enjoy the snow as well!
As you can see Ayla was so happy playing outside in the snow
It's the little things in life that make us so happy....
sometimes it just takes a three year old to remind us of that!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas day. We will be so busy, that I will probably not be posting again until after Christmas. So to all of my friends, Relax, enjoy time with your friends and family and most of all do not forget the real meaning of CHRISTmas...the celebration of the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. I know many presents will be shared this Christmas, but it is He who has already given us the greatest gift of all....forgiveness of our sins and eternity in Heaven.
Happy Birthday Jesus and THANK YOU!
